Foundation History
Hal & Denise Young originally started a family foundation using their personal funds in 2005 in an effort to help the children in the Leon, Nicaragua area located at an orphanage called Venga Tu Reino. The orphanage came into existence in 1996 in order to care for the large number of children who lost their parents in the devasting floods and landslides casued by Hurricane Mitch. Funds for the building of the orphanage were originally donated by several professional baseball players of Latin descent, lead by native Nicaraguan Dennis Martinez. Since the opening of the orphanage, funding has become sparse. The Young Family Foundation, along with other family members and friends, delivered hygiene kits, clothing, and toys during Christmas of 2005. This trip started the ongoing association between the foundation and Venga Tu Reino Orphanage. Since then, there has been a study flow of children (mostly girls) into the orphanage that have been victims of abandonment, abuse, and economic hardship.
In Late 2006, the Young Family foundation changed their name to the Worldwide Child Relief Foundation. WWCRF is trying to help Venga Tu Reino and the surrounding community to improve living and health conditions, and bring a better quality of life to the children. In the past the foundation delivered clothing, educational items, sports and craft equipment, and completed a fencing project around the orphanage. Our group has also delivered clothing and other useful items to other impoverished areas of Nicaragua

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS AND MONETARY DONATIONS TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE AID TO THESE CHILDREN.
